ID : 49492
« back to classes page
The Hill Country that we see today began nearly 1.1 to 1.3 billion years ago.  During the geological creation of the Hill Country and the Llano uplift, many different types of rocks and minerals were formed in the Earth's crust.  Being able to identify the Hill Country rocks and minerals, and know how they were formed, this will add to our rich understanding of where we live.  The presentation will begin our journey 1.3 billion years ago, explain how our rocks and minerals were formed, the tricks to identify them, and where they can be seen as we explore the Hill Country.
